We report detailed depth profiles of the particle-reactive radionuclides Pb-210, Cs-137 and Be-7 in sediment cores collected at different seasons from a tidal flat (Molenplaat) in the Westerschelde. The results are presented within two aspects: the long-term sedimentation and the seasonal signature. Mean accumulation rates over the past 40 years with Cs-137 as a stratigraphic marker are around 2 cm per year. Although the very low level of excess Pb-210 limits the use of this method, profiles of Pb-210(xs) with depth strengthen mean rates derived from Cs-137 data. The vertical distribution of Be-7 in the top 6 cm of cores is clearly affected by a seasonal control. In particular it presents the highest activities in summer
