Status The genus Cordylophora has usually been included in the Oceaniidae (former Clavidae). Its taxonomic position is presently unclear. Molecular investigations (Cartwright et al. 2008) placed it close to the Bougainvilliidae. Its separation into the family Cordylophoridae might thus be temporary. [details]
