Mean biomass (g AFDW m-2) observed along the longitudinal (regions) and vertical gradients (depth strata) in the Scheldt estuary [Gemiddelde biomassa (g AFDW m-2) geobserveerd langsheen de longitudinale (regio’s) en verticale gradiënten (dieptezones) in het Schelde-esturarium]

Description
Macrofauna total biomass showed both a strong significant difference among regions (two-way ANOVA, F3,3095 = 21; p < 0,0001) and depth strata (two-way ANOVA, F3,3095 = 439; p < 0,0001), with also a significant interaction term salinity-depth (two-way ANOVA, F9,3095 = 7; p < 0,001). Highest biomass values were observed in the highest salinity regions (polyhaline zone) and the intertidal zone. Within the subtidal strata, no significant difference was observed. Scope Themes: Biology > Productivity - biomass, Coastal studies (e.g. shores, estuaries), Physical, Water composition Keywords: Brackish water, Biomass, Depth, Longitudinal, Macrofauna, Mean (Statistics), Salinity, Vertical, ANE, Scheldt Estuary Geographical coverage ANE, Scheldt Estuary [Marine Regions] Parameters
