The Royal Meteorological Institute (KMI) primarily focuses on research that enhances the accuracy of weather predictions. Furthermore, research is conducted with regard to climate, hydrology, geomagnetism and teledetection.
The marine aspect of the research mainly addresses coupled ocean-atmosphere models but also remote sensing with regard to the oceans.
