Abstract An occipito-parietal skull fragment of a male specimen of Odobenus antverpiensis (Rutten, 1907), from the mouth of the River Scheldt (Netherlands) is described and figured. The animal lived probably about the transition Scaldisian-Merxemian (Pliocene-Pleistocene). It lived in coastal marine surroundings rich in shell-bearing molluscs and is not necessarily an indication of cool conditions.
