Pagination of vol. 1 resumes at p.1 after p.84, and at pl. 1 after pl. 4; this is endorsed in the index at the end of vol 2 p. 439. Most of the contents were issued as separate papers in Atti del Real Istituto d'Incoraggiamento alle Scienze Naturali di Napoli, vol. 4, issued 1828, with the same pagination up to p. 192, with a different pagination later on; this explains that some plates of vol. 1 bear the heading "vol. IV" [of Atti...] .
