Abstract
The lock complex at Terneuzen is the most important gateway to the ports of Terneuzen and Ghent and provides a shipping link between the Netherlands, Belgium and France. The project team New Lock Ghent-Terneuzen of the Flemish-Dutch Scheldt Commission currently works full-speed in preparation for a new, large lock within the existing lock complex. On completion the new lock will rank among the ten largest locks in the world.
